Revolut gambling block: how to turn it on or off

Switching the Revolut gambling block on takes effect the moment you tap it. Switching it off starts a 48-hour clock that Revolut spells out on screen: when we disabled it on our own account on 11 July 2026, the notice the app raised read “We’ll unlock Gambling payments after 48 hours”, and the toggle then sat at “Unlocking in progress (48h)”. One screen holds both directions — Security → Payments. What the block does

Everything on this page comes off one Revolut account, walked on 11 July 2026. Take the scope from Revolut’s own labels: the setting is called Gambling block, and the notice that appears when you switch it off names what gets released — “Gambling payments” — the outgoing kind. Whether that covers anything other than card payments is not something our capture shows. Which merchants Revolut catches under that heading is Revolut’s call, and our record holds no capture of a declined transaction, so the description here stops at the wording.

Money moving the other way is a gap worth stating plainly. No casino payout has ever landed on a Revolut card we hold, and the Revolut row of our measured casino payout table carries a sample size of zero, so what the block does or does not do to an incoming credit is something we cannot report from our own account. How to turn the gambling block ON (the RG-positive step)

If you want a barrier between yourself and casino deposits, this one takes three taps and no waiting period:

1. Open the Revolut app → Security.
2. Open Payments — the screen that also holds Trusted merchants and Blocked payments (path walked on our account, 11 July 2026).
3. Toggle the gambling block ON. It takes effect immediately.

That third step also works in reverse. If you have already started removing the block, it can be switched back on at any point in the 48-hour window, including while it is counting down. Enabling it takes effect immediately; whether that cancels the pending unlock or the window simply lapses is something our walkthrough did not test (in-app behaviour, 11 July 2026).

How to turn the gambling block OFF

Removing it runs back through the same screen, with the delay attached:

1. Open the Revolut app → Security → Payments.
2. Toggle the gambling block OFF.
3. Read the notice the app raises — it states when gambling payments unlock, and the window below starts from there.

The waiting period before it lifts: 48 hours, from the app itself

The delay is official. Disabling the block on our account raised a modal headed “You’ve disabled gambling block”, over the line that carries the figure: “We’ll unlock Gambling payments after 48 hours. You can enable Gambling block anytime you want.” Behind it, the Gambling block row on the Payments screen reads “Unlocking in progress (48h)” until the window ends. The app’s own word for those 48 hours is unlock; a 48-hour cooldown is what it amounts to. That design is the point of a self-control tool: an instant-off switch would leave nothing between an impulse and a deposit.

Why casino payments still fail after disabling it

Removing the block guarantees nothing at the cashier. We hold no capture of a declined Revolut deposit, so what follows is the list of causes worth checking, not a measured ranking:

• You may still be inside the unlock window — though our own record complicates that. A €10 card deposit at NetBet cleared at 17:51 on 11 July 2026, 37 minutes after the capture above showed “Unlocking in progress (48h)”. Our records place both on the Revolut account this page documents, but we have not re-checked that they are the same account, and we have not retested the sequence. Until we do, treat the window as a cause worth ruling out; nothing here proves it is the cause.
• The card is a disposable virtual card — use the physical or a persistent virtual card.
• The operator’s cashier rejects the card BIN — the fixes on the BOV declined-card page apply to Revolut declines too.
