The player-protection tools, and where they’re guaranteed

MGA-licensed operators are required to provide player-protection tools; at other licences the tools below are common but not guaranteed — check for them before depositing, and treat their absence as a red flag. Use them before they feel necessary — that’s when they work best:

  1. Deposit limits — daily/weekly/monthly, set in your account settings. Decreases apply immediately; increases only after a cooling-off delay.
  2. Reality checks — on-screen elapsed-time and spend reminders.
  3. Time-outs — short breaks (24h to several weeks) that lock the account.
  4. Self-exclusion — closes the account for a chosen period or indefinitely, with the operator required to prevent re-registration during it .

Bank-side blocks add an independent layer: Revolut’s gambling block and the BOV/HSBC merchant blocks stop money at the source. If a bank block has been quietly protecting you, think twice before engineering around it.

Warning signs worth taking seriously

Betting more than planned, chasing losses, gambling with money needed for essentials, hiding play from people close to you, gambling to escape stress, relief when a deposit fails. Two or more of these, persistently, is the point where the tools above stop being optional — and where a call to 1777 costs nothing and commits you to nothing.

Our own rules

This site never presents gambling as income or a solution to financial problems, never targets minors, shows the 18+ marker and these resources on every page, and lists only operators whose licence of record is named and verified — because who licenses a casino decides how enforceable its player-protection obligations are, and you deserve to see that before depositing. If our content ever falls short of that, tell us.
